About the Author

Joshua P. Underbakke believes that God is the Author of our stories, weaving every moment—especially the ones we don't understand—into something bigger than we could imagine.

When Joshua set out to write It Is Written, he faced an unusual challenge: he'd never really read a book before. But as he puts it, “God doesn't need credentials to use someone—just willingness.”

That truth is at the heart of everything Joshua writes. The more he witnesses stories of people's lives unfold, the more convinced he becomes that God is working all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

“God doesn't call the influential to be faithful; He calls the faithful to be influential.”

These words from his mother—the one who first showed him what it means to accept Jesus as Savior and follow Him as Lord—have stayed with Joshua throughout his life. She has always been his greatest supporter, cheering him on every step of the way.

It was her encouragement that pushed him to share these stories, to highlight how God works through ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things.

His Mission

Joshua's passion is showing others how God shows up in powerful ways—bringing hope, redemption, and purpose to even the most unexpected circumstances. In the ordinary, He does the extraordinary. And the least likely among us become the most powerful instruments of His grace.

Because it is written, and God is still writing.
